MK2 Golf GTI - £3700
Finding good MK2 16vs is becoming harder and harder, but if you are lucky enough to find an honest and well cared for example then driving it will is enormously rewarding. This J-Reg 3 door 16v is one such example. With only 4 owners from new, the car is virtually immaculate. The first owner bought it from new on 1st August 1991 and enjoyed ownership for 9 years until selling it to his friend and colleague in the army in 2000. Between them they have cared for this car extremely well and it shows.
This car is a stunning example of a late MK2 16v and has covered just 116,000 miles - well below average. It has a comprehensive service history which explains why it drives faultlessly and is one of if not the quickest standard 16vs we have driven. The metallic grey paintwork is in fantastic condition and the interior is almost as the day it left the factory - no burns or rips and none of the familiar drivers seat wear that so often lets down a car. The BBS alloys are virtually mint and wear almost brand new tyres all round (The wider 195 profile).
Standard features on this 16v include PAS, electric windows, sunroof, fully working MFA, smoked rear lenses and factory fit Beesting. The car is still wearing its original dealer number plates both front and rear and all stickers are present and correct. The HT lead removal tool is still present in the engine (so rare we didn't even know what it was to begin with) and in the boot there is even a first aid kit and warning triangle. This car has been meticulously maintained - it is hard to do it justice with photos.
